So, Michelle from Her Cup Overfloweth told us ahead of time that just because the theme is apples, doesn't mean every tin has to only contain apples... be creative! Ummm... sorry, no. My son LOVES fruit and anything else sweet (naturally or unnaturally), so when I found out the theme was apples, I thought, "My son will finally eat his entire Muffin Tin Meal!" And, he almost did! I served him this meal on Sunday morning... what a great way to start the day! Sweet, sweeter and sweetest! I really only have one thing that is not apple related, but it could be... I'll explain later. So, from top left to bottom right, we have: Banana muffin (not apple related)... but, if I had used applesauce instead of eggs in my recipe, then it could have been apple related. ;) Next, Apple Jacks. I haven't had these in forever! I guess I forgot how sweet they are... 1st ingredient: sugar. Hmmm... Moving on. Caramel for dipping. Apples and cinnamon oatmeal (semi-healthy), Applesauce (I snuck in some butternut squash), and Apple slices. My son has recently discovered dipping, and it's a big problem... he usually only eats the dip. He eventually ended up dipping everything (yes, even the oatmeal and applesauce) into the caramel until he was a sticky mess. But, I think he got a little bit of goodness mixed in with the sweetness.
Fun as usual! :)
Can't wait for next week's theme!

Love it! I really need to start doing this with the kids I nanny for.
I'm glad he enjoyed it so much! My kids love fruit too--of any sort. They like it as much as dessert. My littlest may even like it more than dessert:-).
Love this. My son is a picky eater and so I love the idea of mixing butternut squash in with applesauce.
Stopping by from SITS!
I think I'll have apples and caramel for breakfast :)
I haven't had Apple Jacks in a long time either.
Have a great week ♥
Oh, how fun!! What a great assortment of apple-based foods you have there. I haven't had Apple Jacks in forever either. Maybe that'd be something apple-ish that my daughter would eat! Ha!
Apple Jacks! :) Great idea...my kids would eat this muffin tin meal too.
Yum, I want that. I love all those items. I love me some hot oatmeal!
apple jacks, oh it's been so long! Great job, mama mel!
Great ideas for the apple breakfast!!
How fun is this? I totally love it! Brilliant!
An apple breakfast was a great idea! My kids love apple oatmeal!
Great tin!
What a cute idea! Looks fun and yummy!
Looks good. I just started doing Muffin tin meals for my 2 year old recently.
Great theme. I think I like the carmel for dipping the best.
mmm sounds tasty. Mikey Bear is a huge fruit eater especially apples and bananas. I tried the Apple ShakeUps with him and he loved them! I got the idea from Totally Tots. http://totallytots.blogspot.com/2009/09/once-upon-book-apples-apples.html
These always look better to me than my own lunch.
We've never tried apple oatmeal, I have to get my little Lu over the "consistency" part of oatmeal she thinks its gooey! However I think she'll like it if it taste like apples :)
mmmmm! Apple Jacks are very good! I haven't had them for years.
I was thinking about the Muffin Tin Monday this morning when we had a visitor bring over a muffin tin for the kids to play with. She used the tin as a puzzle- the girls would put balls and rubber ducks in the slots. I told the visitor about the muffin tin meals and thought it was interesting all the uses for them!
Looks yummy... and I can totally understand the love of dipping... my daughter gave up on the apples after they were almost gone and started painstakingly dipping the chopped walnuts into the honey, one at a time!
my daughters are very poor eaters..wish i could do this for them..
Apple Jacks, I didn't know those were still around either. A nice mix of goodies but I'm imagining dipping applesauce in caramel. Bet that was a little messy but yummy.
I can't think of the last time I ate apple jacks what a great idea!
This is so cute! Butternut squash mixed in applesauce?? Hmmm, never thought of that.
