Hi, all! It's been a while since I've posted anything. I don't get much computer time anymore when I'm so busy with the kiddos. But I really wanted to enter a quilt in the Blogger's Quilt Festival over on Amy's blog. So here it goes... I'm entering this into the Modern Quilt category. Seems pretty modern to me, anyways. :)
If you follow my blog, you may have seen this one before, but mamammelloveshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10990814541736776175noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557086337612401564.post-25633138734090280242014-04-08T09:57:00.000-07:002014-04-08T10:02:39.401-07:00Pure Boy Quilt
I finished this quilt over the weekend. It will be for my cousin's baby boy, due in August. It was really easy to put together for two reasons. 1. It was made using a jelly roll, so not as much measuring and cutting. 2. It's a baby quilt... so much smaller! :) I actually love this design and hope to do some more similar quilts in this way.
I used the Pure fabric collection bymamammelloveshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10990814541736776175noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557086337612401564.post-4459858724589564442014-03-25T17:18:00.001-07:002014-03-25T17:18:39.749-07:00Catching up on blogging... again!
Sorry it's been so long... again! I have such a hard time finding time to get on the computer. I've been keeping busy with lots of sewing. I've lost track of how many quilts I have in progress now, but I've finished 2 quilts this year already. :) I know it's late to think about the new year... pretty soon it will be the middle of the year! But, here's a little mosaic of the quilts I finished in mamammelloveshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10990814541736776175noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557086337612401564.post-11592293309408485912013-12-27T10:51:00.002-07:002013-12-27T10:51:29.515-07:00Taking a breath!
Well, December certainly was a busy month! Now I need a good long break from the hustle and bustle. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your families. Sorry I haven't posted recently. I haven't had time for much since before Halloween! I made handmade gifts for all the adults in my family, but I didn't get a chance to take pictures of all of them. I always forget that part. I finished this quilt several days ago... I was waiting for some sun to come out, so I could get some decent pictures of it. We had rain from Thursday through Saturday... unheard of in AZ! But very welcome! It definitely feels more like fall now! :)
So, I made somewhat of a Spiderweb Quilt, using a jellyroll of Saltbox Harvest by Deb Strain. I've had it in my stash for awhile. I had seen mamammelloveshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10990814541736776175noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557086337612401564.post-23164157117651812352013-11-19T12:57:00.001-07:002013-11-19T12:57:59.429-07:00More Quilts, and other projects
I finished another quilt yesterday, and I've also been working on some other little projects.
Getting ready for Thanksgiving! :) Are you?
I made this quilt using 2 charm packs in white, and 1 layer cake in Quilt Blocks by Ellen Luckett Baker for Moda Fabrics. The blocks were pretty easy to put together, and actually, I've had the quilt top done for awhile. But, I had to move my mamammelloveshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10990814541736776175noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557086337612401564.post-11634361092396850132013-11-12T12:54:00.001-07:002013-11-12T12:55:45.588-07:00A Party and a Quilt
Sorry I've been away for a while... These last couple of weeks have been busy with lots of family birthday parties... including my son's 6th birthday! He decided on a Lego themed party. There are SO many ideas on Pinterest. Here are a couple of my favorite things that I made on my own.
I recycled some saved up Kiwi Crate boxes and made them into Lego brick party favor boxes. I had a mamammelloveshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10990814541736776175noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557086337612401564.post-75034026881056205702013-10-30T16:09:00.002-07:002013-10-31T06:57:19.222-07:00Another Baby "I Spy" Quilt
So, I finished another quilt this week... just in time to enter it into the Blogger's Quilt Festival contest! If you haven't already, check out Amy's blog by clicking on the link above. Check out all the beautiful quilts! :)
As you know, I love making baby stuff... and I especially love making quilts, so I decided to make another baby quilt, with a favorite "I Spy" theme.

I'm entering this quilt in the Blogger's Quilt Festival over at Amy's Creative Side. Check it out, enter one of your quilts, or vote on all the beautiful quilts! I think I'll put mine in the throw quilt group.
So, I've been trying to use up some of my fabric. I'm always buying more, then I don't end up getting to all my millions of projects swimming around in my head!

So, I went to a friend's baby shower yesterday.
She is also having a baby girl. :)
I made her a few things from me, and a few things for my sister-in-law to give her.
I made this quilt for my sister-in-law to give. The baby's room will be in a star/moon theme, so I was happy to find this baby quilt panel in my stash. I think circle quilts have got to be one of my favorites to make.
They are pretty easy and quick to put together. Especially when you have the right tools. I love using my EZ Quilting Easy Circle Cut acrylic template with my rotary cutter. Since I have a hard time just drawing circles, the template makes it way easy for me to make a perfect little fabric circle.

It seems I cannot get enough Anna Maria Horner these days... :)
I had to make myself a giant log cabin quilt! Based loosely on Anna Maria's pattern, I made it with velveteens and flannels from many of her beautiful fabric lines.
Of course, my corgis had to photo bomb my picture!
I pieced the back with different AMH voile fabrics.
It is definitely a soft and mamammelloveshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10990814541736776175noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557086337612401564.post-58491340124153723082013-09-21T09:46:00.000-07:002013-09-21T09:46:11.984-07:00Something for me...
Every once in awhile, I become a little selfish. I have been making quilts since 2009. I've made one for many members of my family, new babies, charities... I had yet to make one for myself. So, of course the fabric I wanted to finally cut up and turn into a quilt... or two... or more... would be my favorite Anna Maria Horner. I have a lot of her fabric, and I certainly plan on making many more mamammelloveshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10990814541736776175noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557086337612401564.post-50868703503930474102013-09-14T10:15:00.001-07:002013-09-21T09:18:02.720-07:00Pinwheel Quilt
So, after I had finished the three Grandpa quilts, I wanted to use up some of my fabric that's been sitting in my china fabric cabinet for awhile. I decided on my leftover layer cake of Botany fabric by Lauren and Jessi Jung. It is such a great fabric collection and so happy looking! I had seen a tutorial about an easier way to make half-square triangles, and decided that I would give it a mamammelloveshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10990814541736776175noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557086337612401564.post-84701653927040945612013-09-08T12:03:00.002-07:002013-09-21T09:17:20.423-07:00Catching Up...Well, I've changed just a little bit on my blog. I'll probably continue updating it for awhile. But, I wanted to post a little something while I have a tiny bit of spare time. :) I was debating whether or not to go back in time and post some of the things that I've been doing over the last two years... because I have still been sewing and making things, just haven't been able to blog about them! mamammelloveshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10990814541736776175noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557086337612401564.post-66843277696167878362013-08-29T19:19:00.001-07:002013-08-29T19:19:10.127-07:00Coming soon...Hello, everyone! I'm not sure if anyone still follows or reads my blog anymore. It has been close to two years since I last posted! Adjusting from one kid to two was harder than I thought. But I thought I'd let you know, that I plan to start blogging again soon! Now that my baby is a little less needy, I might get some time on the computer! I will probably try to make my blog a little prettier, mamammelloveshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10990814541736776175noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557086337612401564.post-64297565553907202652011-10-06T10:51:00.000-07:002011-10-06T10:51:15.363-07:00Baby Safari Quilt Finished!Sorry it's been so long... again! I've been busy with our new baby and I'm still in the healing process, but feeling much better. I returned to my sewing machine a couple of weeks ago, and finished a quilt I had started before my baby girl was born!
This is another quilt for my nephew-to-be who will likely be born later this month. My sister liked the Baby Safari fabric collection by Carina mamammelloveshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10990814541736776175noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557086337612401564.post-44230481589414520822011-09-07T08:02:00.000-07:002011-09-07T08:02:46.337-07:00New Baby!Hello all! I've been away for awhile. Busy with this:
Our baby girl, Anna Mei was born on August 30th at 1:24pm, weighing 7lbs, 1oz. I know I'm probably biased, but she is so beautiful! :) We are so in love! I feel like my family is finally complete, and I feel so blessed to have been given the sweetest boy and the sweetest girl! My husband has been so wonderful, helping to take care of mamammelloveshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10990814541736776175noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557086337612401564.post-40009686270843013892011-08-30T08:33:00.001-07:002011-08-30T08:33:00.124-07:00D-Day!Hi, all! Sorry its been so long since I've posted anything. We've been very busy getting things organized, cleaned, etc., for baby girl's arrival. I will update with pics once I have a chance again. Today we are off to the hospital to have our baby girl via c-section, or as I like to call it, "baby-ectomy". ;) Hoping and praying everything goes well this time... would really love it if it goes mamammelloveshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10990814541736776175noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8557086337612401564.post-79327933225379356222011-08-03T08:14:00.001-07:002011-08-03T08:14:01.472-07:00Botany Quilt Finished!I just finished the final touches on this quilt yesterday. I had the quilt top done since last year, but just now got to completing it. :/ I'm glad I'm getting things done, though. :)
I finished this quilt top last September (gasp!), as part of a quilt along that I joined in. Here's my previous post about it. I used the Botany fabric collection by Lauren and Jessi Jung for Moda. We are always looking for great ideas that will save us some money, and this is by far one of the least expensive ways to install some bookshelves in a child's room! I think it cost us a total of $8 total! I definitely scored some brownie points with the hubby for being so frugal! :) Here's the tutorial we followed. Wow! It's been a while since I've posted a recipe on here. But, these muffins are definitely worth mentioning. I actually found a recipe online for lemon-blueberry bread, modified it a little bit (as usual), and made these delicious muffins! Lemon and any kind of berry make a really delicious combination, in my opinion, and everyone loves blueberries, right? Anyways, here's my modified recipe:&mamammelloveshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10990814541736776175noreply@blogger.com0
