I made up this quick little zig zag quilt for a friend who is having a baby shower this weekend. I apologize for the horrible pics. We were having a cloudy morning. I suppose this is my 12th quilt of the year, even though I wasn't really planning on it being number 12. It was an easy one to whip up for a quick gift. My friend is expecting a boy, so I decided to use my leftover jellyroll strips in blues, whites and yellows from Moda's Love U fabric collection, as well as some plain white 2.5" strips. The quilt measures approximately 35" square. A nice small size for baby. :)
I used a simple one-piece backing with the yellow alphabet fabric from the collection.
I wanted to try something different (again) for the quilting this time, so I decided on a simple loopy squiggle design all over. It shows up best on the dark blue.
I used the green dot fabric from the collection for the binding. I was pleased with how it turned out and especially how quickly I was able to get it done. :) I hope my friend and her baby love it!

What a beautiful quilt. My mom is an awesome quilter too! I just emailed her your link :) Your friend is a lucky lady to get this as a gift! Stopping over from sits!
It's lovely! I'm using the same Love U fabric, but mostly in blue, for a quilt for my niece's baby. Yours looks really fun with all the orange and green, I think I like it much better than mine.
I'm new to quilting. The first one I actually finished was hand quilted. Have to admit, I'm nervous about machine quilting. Yours looks good, though! --Marcia
