Tot School--Week 7

Tot School
R is 22 months old.

We had a very busy week, so here are just a few pictures of some things my son did this week:

He started an art class and a science class this week. I was unable to get pics of his art class... Here are some pictures of activities from science class. He learned about cause and effect. This is a tub of sugar that they could "paint". He loved watching the designs he would make in the sugar. :)

He loved this ball toy! Basically, you put a ball in one of the holes, and it goes down a tunnel to the bottom. This part of science class was the most enjoyable for him!

This was also fun, and a creative idea too! An old coffee canister made into a put and take toy. He would push blocks or other small toys into the cut open lid!

And, some pouring... A big tub full of rice puff cereal, old yogurt containers, and measuring cups. He loved pouring, but is not very skilled at scooping yet.

He also had some fun with friends at a party on Saturday, and celebrating Labor Day on Monday. :)

Tot School--Week 6

Tot School
R is 21 months old

Here are some of the things we did for Tot School this week:

I printed one of Carisa's coloring books from 1+1+1=1. We chose the Brown Bear, Brown Bear one. I was trying to have him match the colors of the animals in the book, but he just wanted to color! :)

Coloring the bear brown...

Coloring the frog green... he paused, then started "jumping" like a frog. :)

Trying to learn the alphabet again... this time with the help of his new toy hammer. "Pointing" to the 'A'...

Stacking his nesting blocks... and trying to learn some shapes.

I found some more printable coloring sheets at the Fisher-Price site. They also have some cute online "games" for all ages.

Unfortunately for you all, I don't post pics of his face--I'm a little over-protective! But, his foot was looking mighty cute as well! Here he is having fun with Daddy and the parachute! My hubby is swinging him around while he lays in the parachute like it's a hammock. He also loves to go on a "parachute ride" around the house... he sits on it while we drag him around.

It was another fun week! This upcoming week will also be fun because I enrolled him in some community classes--art, science, and gym! I hope to have some cute pics up next week!

Tot School--Week 5

Tot School
R is 21 months old

We actually did more than what is pictured here, I was having a hard time getting pics this week. Here's some of what we did this week:

Trying to practice scooping/transferring. I gave him a spoon, some kid chopsticks, and some tweezers, but he preferred using his hands. He liked putting the pom poms in the cup and taking them out of the cup. :)

We also tried sorting colors, but he was getting frustrated with that, so I just let him keep transferring the pom poms back and forth...

I could tell he was done with this activity when he piled everything back up on the plate. Good job cleaning! ;)

The stickers were a big hit, as always! He still needs a little help peeling them off the backing, but he is a pro at sticking them!

He loves putting them on his hands too! :)

Tot School--Week 4

Tot School
R is 21 months old.

Here's what we did this week:

Played with Floam... He likes the way it feels,
and when he pulls it apart he says, "Eeew!".

More texture... sticking pipe cleaners in the Floam...

Also had fun with Play-Doh. I was amazed that he learned to roll it out!
I'm thinking he's ready to help me make some scones... ;)

We also played with Clipo blocks. He loves "building"...

He LOVES playing with all of his vehicles... cars, trucks, trains, planes, rockets... I think it was especially funny when he was
ramming his "Air Force One" into the train... should I be worried? ;)

Puzzles, puzzles, puzzles... Here's his chunky bug puzzle.
He's almost a pro at this! :)

He loves the "door" puzzle! Different objects belong behind each door, and he has to figure out which goes where... He's putting the dog in the doghouse. :)

This train counting puzzle is a little bit more difficult for him... I'm not worried, though... it said "3+" on the package.

He also loves his "latches" board, but still needs
a little help with some of them. :)

Aquadoodle is always fun! :)

Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

Tot School--Week 3

Tot School

I normally try to post Tot School on Tuesday, but I was having a hard time getting some good pics of my son in action! So, Thursday it is... Here are some of the things we did in Tot School this week... We tried to do a couple of Letter 'C' activities... I didn't get around to making a Letter 'C' Book this time. He started ripping apart the 'A' and 'B' books that I made, so I have to find a better way to make them indestructible... I am open to suggestions! ;)

Played with chalk. Too hot to go outside, so we did an indoor version... If you wet some sidewalk chalk and draw on black construction paper, it looks really cool... almost glowing! :) My son loves coloring!

Matching letters. We used some foam letters (supposed to be bathtub letters), and matched them with the Alphabet Bean Bags...

We almost got through the whole alphabet... We got through 'X', then my son decided spinning around was much more fun! :)

We played with gears. Stacking colors, and watching them spin. He also likes to put various small animals on the main "spinner", and watch them get dizzy...

We did some cooking... Mmmm.. fried chicken! :)

Putting the chicken in the microwave now...

We have "Music Time" almost every day! My son loves beating his drum! He gets really in to it too! Can you see him squatting? I guess he thinks that if he gets lower, he can drum louder! :)

Grandpa and Grandma were very generous and gave him their old toddler-sized piano!
He loves it! :) Thanks, G & G!

Tot School--Week 2

Tot School
Here's what we did during Tot School this week:

I made a 'B' Book for my son, and we reviewed some 'B' items, including relatives...

Pointing to "books"... good boy! ;)

Staying on the 'B' theme, we played with blocks...

...then stacked only blue blocks... until we ran out of blue! :)
He kept saying, "voo" (Meaning: "blue").

We also strung some beads... he still needs a little bit of assistance with this. :)

I think we are good on "Alphabet" books... I've gone a little overboard, I guess.

He likes this alphabet book which has "puzzle" pieces. He likes taking the letters out and putting them back in. :) For some reason, his favorite letter this week was 'V' and not 'B'... oh well!

We also played with a new puzzle (thanks Grandma!).
Trying to learn shapes. :)

Daddy made this cool new "toy"... a washer windchime!
I will be posting "how-to" instructions tomorrow. :)

Another fun-filled week!
